

To run Burp you need a Java version 1.6 or later. If Java is installed, you will see a message like the java version “1.8.0_121”. In the command line window, type: java -version. On Linux, look for what is called a “console” or “terminal” among your applications. On Mac OS X on the system dock, click on Applications, then Utilities, then Terminal.app. On Windows, press Win+x, select “Command prompt” there.

To start Burp we will start by checking if Java is installed: Open the command line prompt:
